Simply put - Hunger is a health issue! Hunger is everywhere! According to the UN's Hunger Report, hunger is the term used to define periods when populations are experiencing severe food insecurity—meaning that they go for entire days without eating due to lack of money, lack of access to food, or other resources. Around the world, more than enough food is produced to feed the global population—but as many as 829 million people still go hungry. We started the Food Bank because we are personate about feeding hungry people, and want to be part of the solution to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals No: 1-No Poverty, No:2-Zero Hunger and No:3 Good Health & Well-Being.
After steadily declining for a decade, world hunger is on the rise, affecting nearly 10% percent of people globally. From 2019 to 2022, the number of undernourished people grew by as many as 150 million, a crisis driven largely by conflict, climate change, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Children, Widows, widowers and the Elderly face hunger in every community across the world, and especially in Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa. Since Nigeria’s level of hunger is serious, we need more donations to combat hunger. Please, join us in feeding the people by clicking on the support now link to do your part!
